November 2005

Dear Ozark Mountain Daredevils Fans and Friends,

More terrific news about The Daredevils music, along with some other great things!

Greetings everyone.  We hope we find you doing well and that life is treating you fairly.  It hasn’t been all that long since we last contacted you, but some more great things have been happening with the band’s music in 2005.  Not only did we complete the reissue of the entire Daredevils A&M Records catalog, now we have finished the "Columbia 1980" Record reissue project that we have been working on with SONY BMG Music.  As with all of our reissue packages, the CD version contains the original artwork, photos, and lyrics.  It has the 10 original songs from the 1980 LP.  We have Digitally Re-mastered the music from the Original Master Tapes, and it sounds really great.  We have been very anxious to get this one out as you have asked for it for a long time.  Also, we know that many of you have never heard the album before.

The price of the “Columbia 1980” CD is $16.00 including U.S. and Canadian Postage.  When purchased with any other merchandise item the ‘Special Price’ is only $14.00, including postage and handling. (Please add $1.00 per item for all Credit Card Use.  Please add $3.00 per item for Overseas Shipment.)

We have the CD in stock, and you can order yours now!

Once again we want to be sure and let you know that we aren’t finished with reissuing the band’s music, just the A&M Records Catalog, and now the Columbia album.  We do know that buried somewhere in storage at Universal (A&M) are some more unreleased songs that we haven’t been able to locate, but we will be trying to in the early part of 2006.  There are also some songs on a tape or two that many haven’t ever heard and we will be looking into that.

Some of you already know of it, yet it’s something that none of you were expecting.  We know many of the fans have been asking for a long time about this, but there’s been no answer until now.  At last!  A new album by Randle Chowning and Larry Lee has been released on CD.  Randle and Larry were two of the founding members of The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.  Randle was the lead vocalist and guitarist on the band’s first hit "If You Wanna' Get To Heaven" and Larry co-wrote and sang the group’s best-known song, "Jackie Blue".  Reunited once again after twenty-five years, the two have spent the past three years creating this new music together.  The CD is titled “Beyond Reach”, and is a great production of some fantastic songs.  Not Daredevils music by any standard, but still a fresh, bold and truly rich listening experience.  What the world needs more of these days, and we highly recommend it.  We will be carrying the CD at New Era along with our other merchandise.
