Pat's Clogging Studios is owned by Kevin and
Pat Dennis of Springfield, Missouri.
Pat began teaching in 1986, becoming a
fulltime instructor by 1987. Her original group was known as the
"Lockwood Cloggers," located in Lockwood, MO. The club
began with only a few and met in the community room at the
Boatman's Bank. (1st class met Friday, February 28, 1986----with
Pat's instructor, Pat Skinner, giving an introductory lesson)
Lessons were then given on Pat's porch, a
rented building next to city hall, then on to an old renovated
Opry House where classes and performances were done "on
stage". The Lockwood Cloggers occupied "The Theatre of
Performing Arts" as it was called from Nov. 1987 to Jan.
1990.
In Jan. 1990 they moved to a new studio
built north of Lockwood. It was added onto in 1991. At the
Lockwood Studio over 20 different communities were represented.
In Nov. 1992 a studio was constructed north
of Springfield - both Lockwood and Springfield studios continued
to operate until mid 1993.
Pat sold the Lockwood studio, and continued
operating the Springfield studio weekly. She teaches spring and fall
semester classes for Ozarks Technical Community College.
Kevin and Pat opened a new studio location on January 3rd,
2001 in the Glen Ridge Center in Springfield.
We closed the the Glen Ridge Center studio in October of 2006, and have moved
into the new renovated studio located near our home. This location has
more room, computer controlled sound, & multimedia center, with a 96" X
69" screen to view support material for teaching.
Pat also has had the privilege of teaching
at the Folk Center in Mt. View, Arkansas during the Dance Weekend
held in September annually. She has taught there since 1995.
Besides teaching Pat writes choreography and
is also a competition judge.
Pat enjoys teaching large groups or private
lessons to young and young at heart.
Pat and Kevin will teach or perform at
